On the personal side... We are building our life long dream cabin near Wawa, Canada. It is only a six hour drive from Lake City. We love to take along our family & friends.

Update as of 10/2/04.This summer we have studded in our interior walls, ran all of our plumbing, gas lines for the gas lights and electrical too. We have finished hanging and staining the pine toungue & groove in the kitchen and hallway. We also put up several rock walls and boat launch and improved on our trail coming to the cabin.

Thanks to some of our very special friends who donated their time to help:

Glen Tanis- For all of the excavation work including the rock walls, boat launch and road (trail) work (We now don't have to lift the boats out over the boulders along the shoreline)

Jim Bonessa for running the gas & plumbing lines. (Yes! We now have HOT showers and inside facilities)

Ken, Sandy & Dylan Wiltzer: Ken & Dylan for helping out with studding in the interior walls, building a generator shed and hanging the toungue & groove. Sandy for painting the Canadian scene on our pontoon boats and several signs for around the camp. But also for her terrific cooking and helping out in the kitchen

Larry & Cheryl for running all of the electrical wiring and burying of the lines all the way to the generator shed. Yes, we now have lights (which are becoming ever more important since the days are getting shorter). Our hot water heater provides hot water on demand which requires electric too- Thank You for the HOT shower too!

My dad, for help installing the deck and other misc.

Doug & Irene for helping out with putting on the roof, sanding the interior logs, cleaning up all of the excess materials around the yard and other jobs in the short time that we allowed Doug some time off at work.

Scott DeBoer, Danny Slager, & Phil DeKracker for helping out building the collecting rock and building the stone walls, cutting down trees and clearing the lot for the septic system.

Scott VanderMuelen, John & Maria Musselman  for help clearing the lot and stacking the wood and brush piles before anything else could be started.

Brian Alderden, Jim & Corrine Pree and Jack & Rita Kiser for helping put in the first few logs and other odd jobs around camp.

Ron Doll who helped Gring logs and hooked up many of the interior lights.

Jeff Greenway and BJ NyKamp fo help installing the wood stove and working on the roof.

Our future plans for this year is to finish sanding the rest of the interior logs, to stian & seal the interior logs and to install our kitchen cabinets and island. The amish are making them and are looking forward to coming uop to install them. That should wrap things up until next Spring.

We always could use some extrra hands. If you love Canada and would like to help out, please call us.
